Bec & Busta

Bec and Busta’s wedding at the lush Hobart Botanical Gardens was an explosion of heart, creativity, and pure joy — and I’m still smiling thinking about it. From the moment they said “I do,” they danced their way to their reception marquee (yes, literally!) and set the tone for a celebration that was uniquely them.

Every piece of stationery and signage was carefully crafted to reflect their vibrant, personal style. I loved weaving in my own handwritten text and hand-drawn illustrations — infusing each element with intention, movement, and soul.

Let’s talk about that linen welcome sign — a 3-metre-long statement piece with a soft pinstripe running through it, echoing the napkins at each place setting. It was such a subtle, beautiful way to carry their styling thread through the space, and it set the tone perfectly.

Their seating chart was another favourite — designed to resemble the actual table layout, complete with illustrated tables and chairs. It was functional, yes, but also added such a thoughtful and charming layer to the guest experience.

At the bar, we kept the fun flowing with a mix of playful elements — a main sign featuring whimsical hands holding drinks (cheers!), and a secondary menu that brought the beverages to life with signs shaped like a beer bottle, wine bottle, and cocktail glass. Who says signs have to be square?

Their menus featured my handwritten text for that extra personal touch, and the place cards? Oh, just the cutest little hand-drawn oysters with calligraphy names and a teeny sweet pearl detail.

Pops of green and orange were scattered throughout the black and white base palette, bringing a bold yet natural contrast that looked right at home in the garden setting. Everything felt cohesive, playful, and full of love.
